Problem/Need:

Come around club application season, many USC students face a common problem: which clubs should I apply to? Because there are so many clubs on campus, it is hard to keep track and determine which clubs best suit your academic interests and hobbies. For those who can’t attend club fair, it is very difficult to research each club on campus as it is not only time consuming but tedious. Furthermore, for those who do attend club fair, students tend to forget which club does what or the deadline for an application because they are bombarded with so much information.

Solution:

My SC club generator will be able to provide a user with a list of clubs they should apply to based on their major and interests. The generator will produce the club name, a brief description of the club, a hyperlink that navigates you directly to the club website, and the application deadline. For instance, if your major is IYA and your hobbies/interests are marketing, the generator would recommend several design clubs and clubs catered to marketing. It could also incorporate the different leadership positions available in each club.

Analysis:

There is nothing like this currently and there are no competitors. This club generator is very time efficient and organized. You can take a screenshot of what the generator recommends for you to remember which clubs to apply to. Additionally, you would be able to explore more information about the clubs by pressing a link that directs straight to the club website. In the future, it would be cool to implement a save function where you can save clubs that interest you to look back on them.

Impact and Vision:

This website would impact all the students of USC and could even influence other universities to adopt this generator. Students would be saving time and energy and it could become something that many colleges start to follow as well. I think it is very effective and efficient because in the span of 2 minutes students can attain a list of clubs they should apply to.
